Smoked Barbecue Chicken

Ingredients
2-3 chickens cut in half
Fred’s homemade bbq Rub
Apple wood for smoking

Directions:
Wash your chicken pieces, dry them with paper towels, apply Fred’s homemade barbecue rub, and let sit for 30 minutes.

Preheat smoker to 350°
Presoak Applewood, or whatever wood you prefer for your smoker. Add to smoke tray wait ten minutes before you add the chicken.

Place chicken pieces inside your smoker. Smoke chicken for one hour, at 350°

Chicken is done when it reaches 165° in the breast and 180° in the thigh. In my smoker this takes about one hour cooking time yours may vary.

(If you don’t have a smoker then add smoked paprika and smoked salt and roast in the oven at 350° for 1 hour)

Serve with bbq sauce of your choice. We use our own homemade sauce from the blog
